Is Hayle beach accessible?
Hayle Beach is an excellent 3 mile sandy beach that stretches from the Hayle Estuary to Gwithian Towans and Godrevy Point. Access to the beach is via steps and sloping paths.
Is Hayle Towans beach dog friendly?
You can take your dogs on to the beach at Mexico towans which is just to the right of Hayle bathing area. You then have approx 2 miles of beautiful sand to walk dogs. You are also fine to walk dogs without restrictions before 8am and after 7pm.
Can you swim in Hayle estuary?
The beach has Lifeguards and it is recommended to swim within the flagged areas. Do not swim in or near the estuary because of dangerous currents that exist here.

Can you walk Hayle beach at high tide?
At high tide, Hayle Towans is confined between the river and Black Cliff but is still accessible from the car park and from Riviere Towans. As the tide goes out, the beach joins with Gwithian Towans to form a huge beach stretching to Godrevy.

Two areas of the site are also Local Nature Reserves. Upton Towans is owned by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. It is a habitat of sand dune and grassland suited to a variety of wildlife and plants including the pyramidal orchid, glow worm, silver-studded blue butterfly, and skylark.
